“We had a fantastic time on the Farm Stay with Penny! The whole weekend was the perfect way to unwind, take things at our own pace and get into some country living amongst the amazing backdrop of the valley. From lighting a fire in the morning to the open skies at night, it is a real break from city life and a great way to get involved with some permaculture ideas. Thanks so much, we will be back:) Aude & Jay
Nestled in a beautiful green valley with a river flowing through it and surrounded by national park, is a serene permaculture farm that is perfect for a peaceful relaxing weekend get away. The farm in the rural country of St Albans (just 2 hours from Sydney) has a caravan that is fully equipped with gas stove, kitchenware, and double bed. The camping area is under cover next to the van and has a pizza oven, tables and chairs, washing up bay fresh tank water, BBQ’s and compost toilet. All you need to bring is your food and personal supplies.
The farm is yours for the weekend you choose in exchange for 4-5 hours work per person per day. You can choose what work you would like to do from:
- bush regeneration
- tree planting
- veggie gardening
- collecting firewood
- helping out in the new allotment gardens
- or a range of other things.
The rest of the time is yours to enjoy a range of activities like:
- Swimming in the dam or river;
- canoeing
- fishing,
- bush walking
- exploring the historic area
- or just sitting and watching the cows and the beautiful countryside.
