About The Venue ‘Bandusia’

‘Bandusia’ is a luxury country retreat and Permaculture Education Centre nestled in a beautiful valley in the country. At only a 2 hours drive out of Sydney, it is perfect for a day trip or a weekend mini-break. Workshop participants wishing to stay over the weekend will receive special rates that includes breakfast and accommodation.

$55 per tent of one person plus additional person supplement of $30* (includes use of all Bandusia facilities)

Bandusia’s campsite is next to the swimming pool. Facilities include; outdoor shower; toilets, fridge; bbq and stove, pool, outdoor sitting area.  Bring your own tent or ask if you need one to be provided.

Twin share room (room with another person, breakfast and dinner

$90 pp per night*

Our luxurious twin-share rooms include own bathroom with toilet, shower and spa bath. Each has a TV and tea and coffee making facilities.

Private double room for one person (room with ensuite, breakfast and dinner)

$150 per room per night* 

These deluxe double rooms include ensuite and all above facilities.

Double private room with ensuite for couple (room, breakfast and dinner)

$180 per room per night* 

These deluxe double rooms include ensuite and all above facilities.

How to get here…

  • ‘Bandusia’ is at 1056 Upper Macdonald Rd, Upper Macdonald, (St Albans) a 90-minute drive from Sydney’s Northern region. Drive to Wiseman’s Ferry along Old Northern Rd.
  • Take the Webb’s Creek Car Ferry across Hawkesbury River. Follow signs to St Albans (approx 20 kms).
  • Do not cross the bridge at St Albans – instead keep going straight up the Upper Macdonald Road (a dirt road) to ‘Bandusia’, 10.56 kms (about 10 minutes’ drive) from the St Albans bridge.
  • Follow signs.

Note: mobile phones do not work in this area. There is a public telephone and convenience store at St Albans.

Free airport pick up and return for international / interstate students

Permaculture Sydney Institute welcomes and values our international and interstate students. If you are coming from abroad or interstate to attend our courses we are happy to provide you with a free pick up and return to and from the airport or nearby station.

Free city shuttle service – for local and Sydney people

If you don’t have your own transport, PSI provides a free car pooling service with a Friday evening pick up at Epping Station or Macquarie University Station and a return Sunday evening. Buses and trains run from these points.
