Organic farmers from Guangdong province of China visited us here at PSI this week to learn about Permaculture and see it in practice here. Most had never heard of Permaculture so the visit was a real eye opener. There were loads of questions and interest about fertilisation; plowing methods; organic pest growing; animal stocking ratios; sustainable agriculture; and many others. They are eager to learn more about Permaculture so now armed with the Intro to Permaculture off they went to learn more and try out a few things. Some being rice farmers I also sent them off with the power of duck so hopefully some of them will give Takao Furuno’s Duck and rice system a try. Geoffrey as seen below took the group on a guided tour of other properties such as the Pecan nut farm here and other farms of interest. It was a great exchange.
