It was a weekend of meet and great; connecting with old friendships, starting new; show and tell; sharing journeys and plans for the future and celebrating permaculture. And what a weekend it was! It reinvigorated some, inspired others, stimulated us all, and recommitted us to keep going with our permaculture projects and lifestyle.
Over two days and nights 30 graduates came together to share and celebrate Permaculture. We heard the stories; had great food and pizzas around the campfire; saw amazing presentations and got some great new ideas; we planted some trees to mark the occasion and we had lots of fun.
Since their PDC Courses graduates have built homes and gardens using the permaculture principles; some have developed businesses; some a specialist niche activity; developed farms and properties; others have embraced the lifestyle living by the principles in their daily lives. Teachers also shared their experiences and work through education, business, schools and so on. And permaculture is still embraced in their hearts and minds. The weekend achieved many outcomes and precious moments totally worthwhile to make a regular activity of PSI. Graduates said they would like to hold them regularly so PSI has agreed to run them on an annual basis. If you couldn’t make this one really try to come to the next one, you’ll be so glad you did, even if you just observe and join in the fun.
“Hi Penny, That was a great weekend, thank you for organising it. I have come away from the weekend feeling so positive and feeling that I can continue to contribute to the community though sustainable and organic work and actions. Each speaker provided an insight into the interesting and varied things that they are doing. I learnt a great deal from the talks. I also enjoyed the conversations and the company of the group. I would love to come to future events. Thanks again Penny. “
