Introducing our new Intern Kurt Van Dragt

Kurt is studying his Diploma of Permaculture and getting plenty of practical hands on experience on the farm at Permaculture Sydney Institute. Since his arrival last week he has learned how to erect a bush fence, herd cows, process pecans, make a hot compost, drive a tractor; improve pastures and many other things. He will be assisting with the farm share project and our community supported agriculture and learning on the job! A great win-win for Kurt and PSI. Kurt will be posting updates about his experiences here at PSI regularly on the PSI facebook so stay tuned for some surprises.

The Big Pecan Harvest Day

In honor of International Permaculture Day this year we opened our farm gates for a community harvest day. Twenty keen pickers came and harvested as many nuts as they could and got to take home their own fresh organic nuts. It was a wonderful day in the sunshine on the riverbank. Collectively we harvested 55 kilos in 4 hours making it a very productive day.
