Who thought fermenting foods could be such fun and so messy? Well it wasn’t all that messy but we did get our hands right into it, just have a look at some of the pictures! Some of our bodies got quite a shock with all the exposure to new good bugs in our system.
Helen and Heidi delivered a sensational Fermenting Foods Workshop last weekend explaining to us all about the history of fermenting foods, the benefits of healthy living foods important to sustain health and how to incorporate fermented foods into our daily life.
Over the course of the day we learnt how to make a range of foods and drinks such as cultured vegetables; Milk Kefir; Kombucha; Water Kefir; Beet Kvass; coconut Kefir cheese. It wasn’t hard and it was loads of fun! We shared a fantastic lunch and even had a chat about growing food in the Karonga school garden.
We all left loaded up with a colorful array of products and recipes to start our fresh new healthy lifestyle. The workshop was full and being so successful we aim to deliver another one next May 2013. This workshop delivered real food for thought and thought for food and I cant wait for the next one.
